Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and prominent leader of Samajwadi Party (SP) Akhilesh Yadav is once again in the news for his jibes and sarcasm, Akhilesh Yadav made a lot of headlines during the debate on Waqf Bill.
When SP leader Akhilesh Yadav was speaking during the debate on the Waqf Bill, there came a time when the entire House including the ruling party and the opposition echoed with laughter. Actually, Akhilesh Yadav raised questions on the working style of BJP and asked why the party has not been able to find a BJP president for a long time. He said that BJP considers itself the biggest party in the world, but has not yet been able to find its new president. Akhilesh Yadav was smiling when he said this. And this time he was cornering the government.
On this, Home Minister Amit Shah replied in the same style and said that in our party, we have to take opinion from lakhs of workers and there are lakhs of workers in our party. That is why it takes time for us to choose our new president, in our party one is elected from among lakhs of people, but in your place, only family members choose the president. Home Minister Shah said this in the same style, taking a dig at Akhilesh Yadav. On this answer, Akhilesh Yadav also started smiling and greeted him.
Home Minister Shah further taunted and quipped that these people choose their president from the five members of the family. And Home Minister Shah laughingly said that Akhilesh Yadav will remain the president for the next 25 years.
Discussing the Waqf Bill, Akhilesh Yadav said that another bill has been brought by the government for the large population. He agreed with many things said by Ravi Shankar Prasad and said that the ex-Congress people are speaking more now. And Akhilesh Yadav further said that the bill that has been presented, as much as I am able to understand it, I am not able to understand it even in Hindi or English. It is hoped that this Unified Waqf Bill is being brought, Akhilesh Yadav further said that there is a competition going on in the BJP as to who is the bigger bad Hindu.
Akhilesh further said, the party which claims to be the biggest party in the world, that BJP party has not been able to choose its national president yet. What is BJP doing till now. On this, Home Minister Amit Shah laughingly said that you have to choose the president from among five people from the family, in our party we have to choose the president from among lakhs of people, so it takes us time.
During the discussion on the Waqf Bill, Akhilesh Yadav also discussed about demonetization, unemployment, inflation, farmers.
An interesting aspect of this banter was that both the leaders took a dig at each other in their own style. Due to which this political encounter became even more interesting. While Akhilesh Yadav used sarcasm in his words, Amit Shah replied with restraint, but his words were also sharp.
